What our young people need today are not adults who will hand over information, but adults who will hand over themselves and the witness of their own faith life.
Ready Active Participants are our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who live in our parish boundaries and attend our local public schools.
The entire RAP staff intends to go to great lengths to make this program a fun, faith filled experience for your teen. Grade 6 curriculum is the Old Testament of the Bible. Grade 7 is studying the life of Jesus through the New Testament. Grade 8 catechesis is based on St. John Paul II's, "Theology of the Body".

God has given us all unique talents and abilities, and He wants us to use them to serve Him and one another. Yet, we live in a divisive age where it is easy to get caught up in our many differences. In reality, we hold much in common with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are all united in God's saving grace. We hear more than once in the New Testament that the church is the body of Christ, but what does it mean? The body is an excellent illustration of teamwork. Using our different cultural perspectives, talents, and abilities, we all make up the body of Christ – the church. This year's RAP theme will emphasize that we can do marvelous things for God when we work together. By embracing each other's differences and working together, we fulfill God's greatest commandments of loving your neighbor as yourself and loving God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Each month of the school year, we will focus on the different ways we can use our talents to serve God and others. Additionally, each month we will learn about a facet of the Catholic Church outside of our immediate community; this might include saints from different countries or Catholic traditions practiced in a specific region.
Moreover, this year we will focus on a different Spiritual Work of Mercy each month and ask the Holy Spirit to inspire us into ACTION:
September: Counsel the Doubtful October: Instruct the Ignorant November: Pray for the Living and the Dead December: Bear Wrongs Patiently January: Comfort the Afflicted February: Admonish Sinners March/April: To Forgive Offences Willingly
A better understanding of our oneness in Christ is visible through the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is not only Jesus's Mother but also our spiritual Mother. As our spiritual Mother, Mary is always ready to help us. She sets the example of love and faithfulness to God. She intercedes for us in prayer, and she bestows graces on us from God. Throughout history, Mary has made her motherly presence (Marian Apparitions) known by appearing to believers worldwide. In doing so, she shares poignant messages, prayerful devotions, personal healing, and miraculous phenomena—all steeped in religious relevance and cultural connections.
