My name is Anita France, and I teach 4th grade math and science. This is my 26th year at IHM, and my 27th year teaching in the diocese. During the 15 years I stayed home with my children, I taught and coordinated the Sunday preschool religion classes at my home parish of Sts. Boniface and James in Ludlow. I was also a member of the school board at Prince of Peace School in Covington from 1988-2001, and served as the chairperson for part of that time. I attended Thomas More College and received my BA in education in 1979. I received my MA in education from NKU in 1986. I continued my education at NKU to earn my Rank 1 in math and science in 2006. I have a lifetime teaching certificate in the state of Kentucky for grades 1-8.
I grew up in Covington and attended St. Augustine School, then went on to graduate from Notre Dame Academy in 1975. I married my husband Tom in 1979. I have 4 wonderful children, Andy, Katie, Jennifer and Daniel, 5 grandchildren, Linda age 12, Tommy age 10, Bella age 8, Lily age 6, and Evelyn age 3.
I love teaching here at IHM. Teaching is something I have always wanted to do. When I was in grade school, I used to play school with my friends and I always wanted to be the teacher. I did service work in schools as a high school student. I love seeing the “light bulb” moment when a student finally gets the concept I am presenting. I look forward to a couple more years of guiding the students of IHM.
